Our Commitment to Your Kitten’s Health
The health and well-being of our kittens are the foundation of our cattery. At Elite Maine Coon Cattery, we take every step to ensure that all kittens are happy, healthy, and ready to thrive in their new homes. Our health guarantee, along with ongoing support, reflects our commitment to providing lifelong confidence and peace of mind to families adopting from us.
When you bring home a kitten from our cattery, you can be assured that we’ve gone above and beyond to ensure your new companion gets the best start in life.
What’s Included in Our Health Guarantee
Each of our kittens comes with a comprehensive health guarantee designed to protect your investment and reassure you about your new pet’s well-being. Here are the details:
1-Year Genetic Health Guarantee
We stand behind the genetic health of every kitten we raise. Our health guarantee covers all life-threatening genetic conditions for one year. If your kitten is diagnosed with a severe genetic condition covered under this guarantee, we will work closely with you to resolve the situation.
Licensed Veterinary Health Check
Each kitten undergoes a full health examination by a licensed veterinarian prior to joining their new family. This ensures your kitten is in excellent health when leaving our cattery, giving you the reassurance you deserve.
Up-to-Date Vaccinations and Deworming
Your kitten will be fully vaccinated with all age-appropriate shots and will have received routine deworming treatments. This prepares them for a healthy start in life and helps protect them from common illnesses.
FeLV/FIV Negative
All of our parent cats are tested for Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), and we ensure they are clear of these conditions. This testing is extended to the kittens, ensuring they are healthy and free from these diseases.
Lifetime Breeder Support
We provide ongoing support for the life of your kitten. Whether you have questions about care, feeding, transitioning, or health, we’re here to provide guidance whenever you need it.
Policies for Adopting a Kitten
Spay and Neuter Agreement
To ensure responsible pet ownership and the overall well-being of the Maine Coon breed, all kittens are sold as pets with a spay or neuter agreement. This requires you to have your kitten spayed or neutered by a licensed veterinarian by the age of six months, unless a breeding arrangement has been made with our cattery.
Returning a Kitten
In the unfortunate event that you are no longer able to care for your kitten, we require that they are returned to us. We will work on their placement into a new loving home, ensuring that they are not surrendered to a shelter or rehomed without our approval.
A Foundation for a Healthy Life
We take great pride in ensuring the best care for every kitten we raise. Some of the important measures we take include:
Testing parents for genetic diseases to ensure the health of the litter.
Feeding our kittens high-quality food to promote growth, development, and a strong immune system.
Implementing a structured health program that includes regular check-ups, vaccinations, and preventative care.
Maintaining a clean, enriched environment within our home to support the social, mental, and physical development of our kittens.
Once you bring your kitten home, we provide detailed records of their health history and guidelines to help you care for your new companion. This gives you everything you need to confidently start your journey together.
